So How Much Will This Cost?
Thanks to our generous sponsors and fundraising, we are able to offer Purdue students the ability to waterski or wakeboard at incredibly low rates compared to the cost of owning a boat and private lake in the "real world."
Club Membership Dues: Allows you to utilize the lake and boat
$(still deciding, should be around $60-90)- To be able to pay for our boat and insurance, along with other expenses, the club has an initial membership fee of $(still deciding) per member. Checks can be made out to Purdue Waterski Club.
USA Wateski Membership: We require all club members to become a member of USA Waterski for insurance purposes. This costs $45 for the entire year, and allows up to $100,000 medical liability if you were to be involved in a skiing related accident during our practice or in a tournament.
$45- see for instructions on how to get one
Boat Gas:
Make sure you bring $5 with you whenever you come to the lake. It's good for one pull or set. This is equal to 6-8 slalom passes (around 10 minutes of skiing), or 10-12 minutes tricking or wakeboarding (depending on how many people are waiting to ski).
These costs only apply if you plan to attend tournaments.
They are in addition to the above costs.
Social Fee: Covers food and beverages at tournaments
$10 per tournament or $40 for all tournaments
Tournament Fees:
To compete in tournaments, the host lake often charges a fee. This is usually around $35-$40 per tournament (depending on the tournament.) It is the same rate for 1 to 3 events.
